I’m Àlex Hinojo, a cultural sector engager from Barcelona.

I am a member of the #glamwiki initiative, an international group of Wikipedians who assist cultural institutions in collaborating with Wikipedia in order to share multimedia content and cultural expertise.

I work to increase and improve the relationships between the cultural sector and the free knowledge community, looking for new ways to engage with cultural heritage and sharing culture.

With a degree in Business Administration, a postgraduate degree in Cultural Projects Management and a museum studies postgraduate degree, I am a museum consultant with more than 10 years of experience in digital projects management. As a wikipedian, I have more than 30.000 edits and have started more than 3.000 articles on the Catalan Wikipedia.

I’ve promoted and coordinated projects for several cultural institutions of Barcelona, such as Museu Picasso -where I served as a Wikipedian in Residence-, CCCB,MACBAFundació Joan Miró and Patrimoni.gencat. I am also the creator of the@CatalanMuseums project, believing that we must share our local models if we want to become universal.

My last project involved adding wikipedia-linked QR codes to the Fundació Joan Miró ongoing exhibit: “Joan Miró. The ladder of Escape”, wich was well covered by national press.

I am serving now as GLAMwiki project manager at Amical Viquipèdia.
