Carolina Ferrer is Associate Professor at the Department of Literary Studies of the University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM), Canada. Her research covers Spanish American literature and culture, cultural dynamics, semiotic approaches to database systems, literature and electronic archives, film studies, epistemocriticism. Currently, she works on the propagation of ideas across disciplinary fields as well as on the interdiscoursive relations between literature, cinema, and socio-political context. In 2008, she inaugurated Babel Borges www.babelborges.org, a research group dedicated to the study of the diffusion of Jorge Luis Borges’s work through culture.
