From XIX century manuscripts to conversations with Siri, we seek to understand Spanish language in California. Our approach is multidimensional: from Sociolinguistics, to History, to Cultural (hi)stories. Covadonga Lamar Prieto leads the team at the Spanish of California Lab (SOCALab) in the University of California Riverside. She specializes in Sociolinguistics of the Spanish in the US.
