From XIX century manuscripts to conversations with Siri, we seek to understand Spanish language in California. Our approach is multidimensional: from Sociolinguistics, to History, to Cultural (hi)stories. Our goal is to recover and piece together the linguistic and cultural history of Alta California and contemporary California.
